Painted Room

From the entrance hall a door on the left leads to a small drawing room , known as ‘The Painted Room’. The walls are decorated with oval 18th century paintings in the style of Angelica Kauffman (1741-1807). The room is painted in soft shades of pink and green with ornate white plasterwork decoration in the style of Robert Adam (1728-1792). The four wall paintings in this room depict Venus and Cupid, Flora the goddess of flowers, Juno and the peacock and Diana the goddess of the hunt with her two hunting dogs and bow and arrows.
